PEMBERTON - A ZOOM KAL OPENING 2021- A NEW YEAR At The NeedleTree Let’s start off 2021 with a cozy comfy sweater project! The Pemberton is a Blue Sky Fibers unisex pullover. We will be joining Blue Sky in their KAL. The NeedleTree will have supplemental handouts and Zoom sessions. Blue Sky Fibers is running the KAL from January 4 through March 31, as they host the Pemberton Pullover in Woolstok (Worsted). Made from 100% Peruvian Highland Wool, Woolstok is the perfect option for this soft and warm sweater. In this KAL, which is great for intermediate knitters, participants will knit this piece flat, seam at the sides and work with charts. The Pemberton Pullover is written for sizes XS through 5XL. The eye-catching detail of the different textures combined with a relaxed fit make this sweater ideal for men and women. Color options for this sweater are truly endless, Woolstok is available in 27 rich colors. I have knit this lovely sweater, with an extra tall simple modification for a tall man, and it will be available for you to see, in person or on Ravelry. I will take pre-orders for the Blue Sky Woolstok yarn, and, as always, am also available to help you with other yarn choices from your stash or ours! Pemberton is by Bobbi Intveld, the in-house designer for Blue Sky, and is available on Ravelry. The pattern will be included in the KAL or I can do an in-store purchase for you if you would like just the pattern. The pattern uses worsted weight Woolstok (I used Blue Sky Extra in the shop sample, a heavy worsted Wool and Alpaca blend). The pattern is not only suitable for both men and women but very inclusive, offered in 9 sizes! In the first zoom class I will go over the sizing options, simple charts and the pattern layout. In addition, I will explain how and why I treated this project as both seamed and in-the-round! Subsequent classes will address any questions as you progress and I will go over seaming as well. To enhance the sense that we really are knitting together and the world is normal, we will have our Zoom class on our usual Sunday afternoons. You’ll need to provide your own coffee and cookies, but let’s pretend we’re gathered around the shop table! We can start with 3 separate Sundays for an hour long Zoom session and extend more as needed! Skills required: - cast on, bind-off - basic charts Materials for workshop: - Main color 1230-2091 yards worsted weight yarn, depending on the size - #6 and #7 needles Dates: Sundays January 10th and 31st and March 7th 2021 all classes on Zoom at 2:00 Cost: $10
