The early spring 2020 workshop is a beautiful stitch sampler cowl. This is a nice introduction to a few styles of broken rib, an intro to bobbles (or nupps), some easy lace and cable stitches and an optional tubular cast on and off used in ribs. This was loads of fun to knit and the techniques are good ones to have in your knitting library. The fun part is you are doing something different every 26 rows – total boredom buster. The pattern is by Justyna Lorkowska and is included in the class fee. Heart Warmer uses fingering weight yarn. I used Serenity Cashmere by Anzula for the shop sample, but any fingering weight will work nicely. Warning – if you touch the shop sample in Serenity you may find a way to talk yourself into the most delicious cashmere I’ve ever had the pleasure to use! You are welcome to use stash yarns for this project. K.T. will be teaching this class. In the first meeting K.T. will review the pattern lay-out, demo the tubular cast-on for rib and review the first few stitch segments. The second meeting will go over bobbles and 2 ways to do the tubular bind-off for rib. Skills required: - cast on, bind-off - knit, purl, basic cables and basic yarn overs Materials for workshop: - 525 yards fingering weight yarn - # 3, 4 and 5 16” needles - 1 ring marker and a cable needle Date: Sunday March 1, 2020 and Sunday March 15, 2020 Time: 2:00pm to 4:00pm Cost: $12
