HALLOWEENIE BEANIES - A ZOOM KAL
At The NeedleTree
Why not escape our “Alternate Universe” of 2020 and do a quick little Halloween project. Whether or not there will be trick-or-treating there can still be plenty of fun! These little Jack-O-Lantern hats are sized from newborn to adult and, with an aran weight yarn, whip up fairly quickly. The color work is simple and intro level.
The basic beanie is Jack-O-Beanie by Perfect Posies on Ravelry. There is also a crochet version, but I won’t be much help as I don’t crochet! I have created a stem addition to this pattern that is included in the class notes. The pattern is included in the class fee or I can do an in-store purchase for you if you would like just the pattern. The beanie uses aran or a fat worsted weight yarn, I used Techno from Blue Sky. The pattern is offered in 5 sizes! I was able to get 2 hats from the 2 skeins of Techno and still have some left in both colors.
You are welcome to use stash yarns and I have charcoal and spooky yellow Techno arriving from Blue Sky. In the class I will go over a refresher on color-work, the decreases used and making an i-cord for the stem. Video links will be provided as well.
To enhance the sense that we really are knitting together and the world is normal, we will have our Zoom class on our usual Sunday afternoon. You’ll need to provide your own coffee and cookies, but let’s pretend we’re gathered around the shop table!
