This super fun wrap, “If One Can, Toucan”, will be our Fall 2017 KAL! This pattern is a great intro to Mosaic Stitch and incorporating a 2-color braid! We worked with Mira (Baah! Yarns owner/dyer) to come up with three different fun color combo Toucan kits, or you can build your own kit with stash yarns. In the first KAL meeting K.T. will review chart reading, mosaic stitch and the lateral braid. The second meeting will be to review any issues, questions or demo refresher….as well as see everyone’s Toucans! The Toucan pattern is both written and charted, which is very nice if this is your first time reading a chart. The pattern calls for three colors of fingering weight yarn, with a smidge of another “pop” color. The kitted suggestions all include the three main colors and a mini-skein of the pop. Our shop sample is knit with the color combo pictured in Baah! Yarns La Jolla. Any fingering weight yarn will work, but we might suggest a non-fuzzy, solid or semi-solid yarn to best show the pattern. I would suggest a strong color contrast for your yarns as well. K.T. will be teaching this KAL. Class materials include the If-One-Can-Toucan pattern, a summary of the skills and Mom’s light refreshments!
