TIBETAN FAITH SHAWL SUMMER KAL
At The NeedleTree
We have a great little KAL (knit-along) planned to wrap up summer (pun intended). The Tibetan Faith is a beautiful cabled wrap by Asita Krebs. I just finished the shop sample in three balls of Summer Silk, a wonderful cotton/silk blend from Berroco.
This design is knit in a worsted yarn and is a crescent shape with a knit-on elegant cable border. The pattern is written using a drapey wool but I was thinking of summer in the south and opted for an incredibly soft slinky cotton. You can really use any fiber that grabs your attention!
Our first KAL meeting will go over the pattern layout, with a few hints on construction and cables. This brand new pattern was written in German and a few things suffered in translation, but I have my notes if the designer hasn’t updated the Ravelry pattern by class time! K.T. will also review the tab cast-on and the cables used in this pattern.
Skills required:
- cast on
- knit, purl, yarn-overs, basic cables
- experience with charts is helpful but not required
Materials:
- #8 32” circular needle
- 725 yds aran or worsted yarn (a solid or tonal will show the cable border best)
- cable needle
