STRANDED KNITTING OR FAIR ISLE WORKSHOP
At The NeedleTree
In keeping with our small skills workshop theme….we are happy to announce the first one for 2016!! The workshop will focus on stranded knitting, also referred to as Fair Isle. This advanced beginner class will use a super cute design to get you comfortable with basic stranding. The hat is a fun knit and we have some good color ideas and fluffy white yarn for the sheep!
Catherine Paul will be teaching this workshop and the class materials include a Baa-ble Hat pattern, a bit of the black yarn for the sheep, a summary of the skills, a demo on making a pompom and Mom’s light refreshments!
Skills required:
- cast on
- knit and purl
- simple chart following
- basic stranding experience (attendance at the whale hat class is sufficient)
Materials for workshop:
- 100 yds each of white and 2 different colors worsted yarn (we have some good combos on hand)
- #6 16” circular needle
- #7 16” circular needle
- #7 DPN or 32” circular IF comfortable with magic loop
