ODELE GARMENT KAL 5/29/16
We have a great summer adult garment KAL (knit-along) planned for this spring. Odele is a new Berroco pattern for a perfect summer top and offers a full range of sizing options. The tee-style is knit in two pieces with simple shaping and easy seams. The front features a deep v-neck. Mom and I think the pattern is easily adapted to a boat neck by knitting two backs. We can discuss this with you one-on-one.
The pattern calls for a light DK/sport weight yarn in a linen/cotton or other non-squishy yarn. I am using the called-for yarn Mykonos by Berroco. We thought this would be a great spring project as it has lots of plain stockinette that you can pick up and put down easily. Odele also has a nice smooth introduction to two garment basics – the “at the same time” and a schematic. K.T. will go over these essentials in your knitting skills arsenal. The Tee finishes with an i-cord edging, which is a fun skill for a very pretty edge. We will teach you this if you are not already familiar with it! Our first KAL meeting will go over the pattern layout and K.T. will review the basics.
