FLAMING BRIOCHE HAT WORKSHOP In our first intermediate skills workshop we are going to tackle combining the skills we learned in the cable and brioche classes. The Flaming Hat is a quicker knit than the cowl we did in our first brioche workshop. The skills portion of this workshop will cover the technique of two-color brioche and how it yields a great extra fat squishy reversible knit. We will also use basic cables within the brioche stitch for a mesmerizing visual effect and cover how to decrease for the crown while maintaining the brioche cable. Our shop sample hat is done in two colors of Shibui’s new yarn Drift, but any squishy, non-fuzzy light worsted will work. I would suggest a strong color contrast for your yarns as well. K.T. will be teaching this workshop. Class materials include a Flaming Hat pattern, a summary of the skills and a few suggestions on pattern modifications for ease of transitions and sizing options and Mom’s light refreshments!
