AVENA TWO WAYS KAL
SPRING 2022

Our “Getting Back to Normal” Spring 2022 KAL is going to be our first in-person KAL in what feels like a very long time!!  Zoom will be an option on request.  This is a color work project that uses simple colorwork techniques and a basic seamless pullover frame to give a beautiful sweater!  The pattern is written for a long sleeve wool pullover and I have a simple modification for a short or cap sleeve summer top in cotton!  As with most color projects, high contrast makes things pop.

Avena is by Jennifer Steingass and is available on Ravelry.  The pattern will be included in the class fee or I can do an in-store purchase for you if you would like just the pattern.  Avena uses a DK or light worsted weight yarn, I used Sami from Amano Yarns, a light worsted weight soft cotton.  The pattern is very inclusive, offered in 13 sizes!

You are welcome to use stash yarns and I have several kit options in the cotton for a nice spring palette.  In the first class I will go over the Avena sizing options, collar/cuff options, stranding basics and demo, and German short rows.  The second classes will address stranding questions, sleeves and pattern modifications.  Video links will be provided as well.

We will meet on our usual Sunday afternoons.  Two sessions should get a very pretty garment!
