Our “Getting Back to Normal” 2022 classes are rolling out with a great beginner project. This cowl is the perfect “first real project” and will focus in on skills most beginners think are going to hold them back. This Easy Ribbed Cowl provides time for practicing knits and purls, covers how to add in a new skein or ball of yarn, knitting in the round, weaving in the ends and the all-important casting on and binding off! The end result is comfort in the underpinnings of knitting skills and a pretty, squishy, giftable knit!
KT will cover all the skills in the cowl with demo’s and hands-on help. Class time will focus on each skill as well as how to fix the most basic boo-boo all knitters encounter….how to back up and un-knit a stitch. Supplemental materials will include video links and, as always, one-on-one help in the shop.
The shop sample was knit with three skeins of Chibi Paka Chunky by Ikigai Fibers. Bundles are available in the shop. You are free to substitute another yarn combination but check with KT to ensure it is the right size yarn.
If you need help casting on KT will be holding a pre-class tutorial for casting on 30 minutes before the workshop begins.
