In keeping with our small skills workshop theme….we are happy to announce the next one!! And this one is yet another “two-fer”. The workshop will focus on intermediate stranded knitting, including how to knit with two hands or carry two yarns in one hand, and how to deal with long floats. We will also discuss provisional cast-ons and Kitchener Stitch grafting. We will start a cowl knit-along using the refined and elegant Aymara pattern incorporating traditional Andean motifs. We will use the class time and a worsted weight yarn to learn the pattern concepts. There will be two of the KAL projects underway to spark some ideas. Included are two KAL meetings to go over any supplemental questions, continue to practice skills, and peek at how all your projects are progressing. Catherine Paul and K.T. will be teaching this workshop and the class materials include an Aymara pattern, a summary of the new skills and Mom’s light refreshments! Skills required: - cast on, knit and purl - charts - attendance at our Intro to Stranded Workshop or previous stranded experience Materials for workshop: - #8 needles and scrap worsted yarn in 2 light colors Materials for KAL: - #3 24” circular needle - 330 yards Color A sport weight yarn - 330 yards Color B sport weight yarn In order to accommodate the many requests for a reservation we already have, we will be offering two different dates for the workshop and then both groups will combine for the KAL follow-up meetings.
